LOGO CONTEST SUBMISSION* ~ BRAND IDENTITY

Redondo Beach is a family-friendly, diverse, inclusive, vibrant, beach community – home to over 70,000 people – with a small-town feel, and always more to sea.

The city of Redondo Beach was in need of a refreshed logo that captured the essence of Redondo Beach: a thriving family-friendly beach community, and inviting atmosphere. The design should be friendly, simple, memorable and timeless.

*They opened logo submissions up to the community, and this was my proposal. Although I wasn’t selected, this serves as a case study and will have future applications for personal use.

A distinctive and modern brand identity that communicates the family-friendly, authentic community that Redondo Beach represents. In order to stand out as a logo suite/brand, it’s important that we focus on Redondo Beach’s unique lifestyle, focusing on the legacy, approachability, coastal beach vibe that stands out from neighboring beach cities. To do so, the brand identity must be distinctive, original to the city, building on legacy, and infused with a touch of warmth.
