Hello, I’m Madeline –
it’s nice to meet you!

Southern California native. Graphic Designer. Marketer. Puzzle-lover. Mama to my favorite little toddler. Observer of human behavior. Culturally Italian (not genetically – but that’s a whole story). And forever curious about how people connect.

The moment my high school yearbook teacher told me I didn’t know how to design was the moment I decided to show him how wrong he was (don’t worry, we’re good friends now). I observed, researched, and looked at what made certain designs work, and others didn’t. By the end of my junior year of high school, that same teacher chose me as co-editor-in-chief, leading design.

Those high school “glory days” set a foundation I continued to build on in college – taking design courses, designing for the Daily Bruin – the UCLA school newspaper, doing summer internships in design, all while getting a degree in understanding human behavior through anthropology – the core of my interest in visual communication.

After working at a creative events agency and branding big-name company events (ie. Facebook, Gap Inc., Toyota, MINI), I moved to Nashville and started freelancing as “Five Ducks Design” – an ode to my feathered friends I took care of on the farm I initially worked at when I moved there (who I subsequently did the branding and photography for, because it turns out I’m not a great farmer).

After getting married and moving to Utah, working at a marketing agency doing graphic design and brand development, I wanted to understand business and marketing and pursued and graduated from the MBA program at the Marriott School of Business.

Now, with a full-time role in brand strategy at a large MedTech company, I get to see how branding works on a massive scale, and bring this knowledge into your business and brand development to make it truly resonate.

A client once told me that I “just get it,” —translating your vision into something that not only looks good but works for your business.

At the heart of everything I do is my desire to help you feel empowered. I take the pressure off, so you can focus on what you do best, knowing that your brand is in safe hands.

Why “Wollacott” Design Co.?

After moving back to Southern California, I wanted a name that resonated with my roots. What better (and frankly more distinct) name than the street I grew up on? Wollacott.

The Wollacott Design Co. brand – inspired by the history and feel of Redondo Beach, California

As I began to develop this brand, knowing the name would be Wollacott – the street I grew up on in Redondo Beach – I researched the history of the city, found pamphlets and marketing materials from 100 years ago and wanted to resonate with some of the history, nostalgia, and have an ocean feel and more modern take that aligned with my brand.
